VAT in Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia introduced VAT at 5% in 2018, increased to 15% in 2020. VAT-registered businesses must issue compliant e-invoices (Fatoorah) through the ZATCA system.
What a legal invoice must include in Saudi Arabia
A Saudi VAT invoice must include: your VAT registration number (TRN), invoice number and date, buyer details, description of supply, VAT rate (15%), VAT amount, and total in SAR.
Saudi Arabia is implementing a mandatory e-invoicing system (Fatoorah/ZATCA) for VAT-registered businesses. Non-VAT registered businesses still need to issue standard invoices.
